Good News/Bad News

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have good news and bad news. The good new is: I will have a lot more free time on my hands in the next few weeks. You'll probably see many more psts than you've been seeing in the past couple months.

The bad news: Your humble correspondent is now unemployed. Woo.

Hiatus Arrow!

Hey guys! You may have a noticed a distinct lack of content around here lately. Unfortunately, your humble correspondent has been incredibly busy the past month or so, and things done look to let up for a while. Between searching for a new place to live, work, and general laziness, I won't have much time for blogging until June. Hopefully, I'll have to site back up and running and on a regular schedule then.

I might still post random tidbits as I get time.

Con-Plague: Defeated!

So, about those posts I owe you...

Turns out Fallout 3 is a really, really awesome game...and not at all conducive to getting blog posts done. I'm going to try to resist the urge to turn on my desktop tonight (my laptop isn't powerful enough to run F3) and make a blog post instead. I've got a mega cool piece of GA swag to share, so that will hopefully make it easier :)

Sorry guys, I know I haven't updated in a while. I feel really bad about that. I made a commitment when I started this blog, and I'm not upholding it. Life has unfortunately conspired against me the past couple weeks. I've been ill and work has been kicking my geeky butt. Fortunately, that's all past me now, and I'll start regular updates again tomorrow, with the second half of the "Speedy is a Junkie" plotline from Green Lantern/Green Arrow!

I'm Not Dead!

No reason to call the Star City police guys, I am indeed still alive! Life conspired to interfere with my quest to chronicle the exploits of everyone's favorite Emerald Archer, but it appears it has lost interest and wandered off somewhere.

Expect new content tonight, where I'll finally restart our spotlight series on the Neal Adams/Denny O'Neal run on Green Lantern.

Sorry guys, I'm getting sent on a 3 day business trip to Montreal, so no updates till Thursday, when I'll post the rest of the Dragon*Con report.

Arrowheads: Rob Kelly

Arrowhead inductee: Rob Kelly!

Hey folks! Now that we've named our Green Arrow fan club, its time to induct its first member: none other than superhero blogger extraordinaire, Rob Kelly!

Rob has sent in some really fun GA swag in the past, including the bit of artwork seen here. Today, a surprise envelope in the mail arrived with the treasures you see to the left.

We've got TWO Green Arrow postcards (th image on the one on the left is my fav of the lot) and 3 GA trading cards, including one from his Mego series action figure!

Rob is truly a great guy, and a true friend of Green Arrow to boot, so everyone welcome the first Arrowhead, Rob!

Hey guys!

At the fine suggestion of Tweety, I hereby christen Green Arrow Fans "Arrowheads." There are already a couple people who qualify, so stay tuned!.

Loyal Readers! Your humble correspondent must apologize for the lack of posts the last several days. I've actually been house hunting, believe it or not (the house must contain a suitable comic book room!) and that has taken a majority of my time. However, things should be back to normal next week!

Friends of Green Arrow?

Greetings loyal readers. I'm thinking about becoming a bit of a copy cat and creating an appreciation society along the lines of Friends of Aquaman (F.O.A.M.) over at the Aquaman Shrine, or P.A.L. over at Plastic man Platitudes.

Unfortunately, I'm terrible at coming up with names for these sorts of things. The title is one possibility, but it's a little close to Rob's name for comfort, plus F.O.G.A.?

It seems all the words I come up with (B.O.W., O.L.L.I.E., A.R.R.O.W.) are tough to come up with acronyms for, and all the names I think up have nothing to do with Green Arrow.

About the best candidate I have now is G.L.O.V.E. (Green Arrow LoVers of Earth).

Any ideas?

Change in Schedule

Hey guys we're going ot make a slight alternation in the normal posting schedule. From now on I'll be doing Ollie Watches on Tuesdays and Spotlights on Modern Age books on Wednesdays. My weekly D&D game has shifted, but its also kind of useless to find out about current Green Arrow appearances the same day they come out!
